All camps are designed to provide a fun, low-stress environment for kids of all levels of experience to explore the art of theatre through games, workshops, and the creation of a final performance. Each session will have a different focus, as detailed below. Space is limited in each session.
Ovation Theatre Company offers sibling discounts and multi-session discounts. Scholarships are also available if needed. Contact us if either of these options apply to you.

Session A
Group 1: Devising and Improv
June 23-27, 2025
Participants will work in small groups (with participants of similar ages) to devise their own original show. Counselors will guide participants to generate ideas and develop a plot, characters, and dialogue through improvisation. Participants will gain valuable experience in many aspects of producing a show and will present their completed production on the final day of camp. The productions may include an element of music and/or dance, depending on the participants’ interest.

Session A
Group 2: Performance
June 23-27, 2025
Participants will rehearse and present a production of Red Riding Hood, a new play written by program director Ryan Kaplan. Everyone in town adores the charming and kind-hearted Red Riding Hood. But her journey through the deep, dark woods will test her courage and wit like never before! Along the way, Red encounters a big, hungry Wolf who devises a plan to trap her and her grandmother for his next meal. Will Red Riding Hood outsmart the Wolf and save her grandmother? Or will the Wolf get exactly what he wants? This faithful and imaginative adaptation introduces a delightful ensemble of new characters, bringing fresh energy to the classic tale. Expect all the beloved twists, turns, and surprises from the original story, reimagined for a new generation.

Session B
June 30 - July 11, 2025
(no camp on July 4)
Participants will rehearse and present a production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach Jr. is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.

Session C
August 4-8, 2025
Participants will rehearse and present a production of Winnie the Pooh Kids. Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course...sharing snacks.
